Wedding (not mine)
I recently attended one of my best friend's weddings and I could honestly write for hours about the event.
Summary: It was 3 days. It was fun. It was beautiful.
As a member of the wedding party, I wanted to be more involved than I was. However, moving across the country seemed to cause more than a few obstacles. I had to plan carefully to make sure I arrived in time for all of the festivities and get back home with minimal impact on projects at the office. This means I would have to:
1) Fly in just before the rehearsal dinner
2) Catch up on the drinking while in the air
3) Arrive back home after the wedding with enough time to sober up
Solution? Leave San Diego at 6am. Fly first class. Leave hours after the wedding reception to get back home.
Now, I certainly can't prove this, but I was essentially drinking from 6am on Thursday until about midnight Sunday morning. This ultimately helped me avoid a hangover. I think.
Anyway, on to the wedding...
The rehearsal dinner consisted of great company, cocktails and some very excellent food at III Forks in Dallas. Somehow I missed the slideshow that was shown during dinner, but I was able to catch it later prior to the wedding.
This is where it gets a little blurry. Between the dinner and the church ceremony, we had Whataburger, drank, took a ton of pictures, attended the Indian ceremony, saw a horse, drank, took more pictures, somehow ended up at Zen in Addison, ate more Whataburger and played Guitar Hero.
I'm pretty much waiting for the pictures so I can verify some of this.
I can prove the horse:

I remember the church ceremony and the reception more clearly, which is good since I was standing in front of people. By the way, we all looked HOT (not sweaty hot) in our tuxedos.
The ceremony was very well done and there were a couple times when us manly men began to tear up. Emotional, I know.
After the ceremony, we took off for the new Ritz Carlton in downtown Dallas. First class, all the way. This place was amazing. I'm waiting for more photos from the reception, but here are a couple from the reception and the room I stayed in just to give you an idea.

(toilet shot!)

Everything about the event was beautiful, from the first dance to the Bride singing to the Groom.
All in all, it was an honor to be a part of their wedding. We are all so happy for them.
Congrats Viv and Novie!
