Using the Open Publish Distribution

Several weeks ago, I was turned on to the new Open Publish Drupal Distro that was put together by the great people over at Phase2 Technology. While no single feature included with the distribution/install profile is going to blow your mind, the simplicity and out-of-the-box configuration just might.

To put this in context for the Drupal crowd, the last time I was this excited about something new, related to Drupal, was when I discovered Drush.

Most of the included modules are probably not going to be new to you, however, the pre-configured content types, theming and enabled modules will make you smile when you realize that you can download, install, subtheme and populate a new editorial, publishing site in under an hour. Anyway, if you haven't tried it, you should take a few minutes now and head over to http://openpublishapp.com and give it a try.
