Ocean Beach...For Dogs
This morning, Casey and I woke up early to check out the dog park at Ocean Beach. Ocean Beach is only a couple miles to the west and slightly to the south from were we live. When we arrived at the beach it was not crowded at all. There was plenty of parking right along the beach. When you pull in to the parking lot, there is a sign directing you to the dog beach, which is a large portion of the beach front that is partitioned off from everything else. The north side of the beach is bordered by the San Diego river and the west side is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, reserving the area on the point for dogs and their owners to enjoy. Once on the dog beach, or "Leash Front", you are free to let your dog off his or her leash to run free with the other dogs in the sand or water. If I had to guess, I would say there was at least a quarter mile of sand between the parking lot and the river on the north edge of the beach. Even Casey wanted to run around once he saw it.
For the most part, the dog owners seemed to respect the beach so there weren't too many land mines to avoid. Here are some pictures of Casey enjoying his rough life.
Casey wanted to go run before I could even take his leash off

That was a good run...even daddy had to run a little to keep up with me

This sand feels nice on my bottom

What is this stuff anyway

"Ooooooh....bitches!" (yes, female dogs...)
