In-n-Out or Fat Burger?
When I left Texas, I was horribly distraught over leaving my beloved Whataburger. As healthy as it sounds, I probably ate there at least once a day, if not more during the last few weeks. It's the breakfast taquitos.
I had always heard about In-n-Out and Fat Burger. Without ever having tried either of these, I could not begin to imagine how they would compare. Consider the hype that surrounded the opening of Crystals in Dallas. That certainly did not live up to anything, in fact, it was border line disgusting. I digress.
My first order of business once arriving in San Diego was to try both of these. Well, actually, first was to sign my lease and make sure I had a place to live. But IMMEDIATELY after that, I was off to In-n-Out.
Wow.
Best fast food burger ever. Hands down. I don't care what you say. The first bite made the move worth it. I also love that they will provide convenient packaging to eat in your car upon request. In the first 5 days, I stopped there 4 times. Great burger. The fries aren't my favorite, but they do make for nice variety when your diet consists of more fast food than it should. For those who don't live here, I think there are more In-n-Outs than McDonalds.
How does it compare to Fat Burger? Well, it doesn't.
Fat Burger definitely has great burgers and fries, but it's not what I would consider fast food. I think of it more along the lines of a Fuddruckers, only better. Not that Fuddruckers is bad, in fact I had it today. I love you too Fuddruckers.
Anyway, there is a Fat Burger here on the beach and I had it for the first time yesterday. An excellent burger. And fries for that matter. It may just be that I like walking in and asking for a "Fat Deal", but either way, I'll be visiting both of these places quite often.
And I thought I'd be eating healthier when I moved out here.
